Posted by canfield in Untagged

Hi all,

Thanks to all that helped out last Friday for the dual purpose happy hour of celebrating the successes of our sailors and welcoming new members to STYC. Membership Chair JP Montegut did a great job helping to organize the event along with Margo Lynch (Jr sailing chair) and Kim Murtha ( HS coach).

Congratulations to Taylor Canfield who was announced the winner of the "Mac D" trophy, donated by Past Commodore John Jouett, for excellence in a junior sailing. Taylor had a great junior sailing career that was capped this past year by winning two Collegiate Championships, a North American Championship and achieving a ranking of 42 in the world among active match racers. Further congratulations to the over 50 other sailors that were recognized that evening. The "Mac D" award will be formaally presented at the Commodore's Ball .

The Commodore's Ball is beginning to fill up so please get your reservations in to Bill Canfield. Cost is $50/ person which includes dinner, your first drink, live music ( The Sun Kings) and dancing. If you have a group let us know so tables can be organized
