Dock Rules (2001)

1. The STYC dock and launch are for the use of Club members who have executed a mooring or dry storage agreement. Any member who has not executed an agreement will be charged a usage fee of $5.00 a day or the minimum mooring fee (whichever is less) if they are on the dock for longer than 30 minutes.
2.Visiting yachts whose owners belong to a recognized yacht club with reciprocal privileges may, with the Manager’s permission, use the end of the “T” for a fee of $5.00  per day.
3. No rafting of boats is allowed at the dock without the permission of the owners of all the boats involved and either the Manager or Fleet Captain’s permission.
4. The South side of the dock  is reserved for members’ boats for the purpose of loading and unloading, for a period of no longer than thirty (30) minutes. No boats shall be tied to the dock in such a way as to interfere with the use and regular space of the club launch. Any boat left on this side in excess of 30 minutes will be charged $10.00 per hour or any fraction thereof ($50.00 per day maximum).
5. The North side of the dock shall be used by members who require a stay of more than 30 minutes. No boats shall remain more than 24 hours. Boats left over 24 hours shall be charged as in #3 above. A Dock Permit (available from the Manager) must be completed and approved before using the north side dock for more than 30 minutes. Exceptions to the 24-hour limit may be granted by the Manager or Fleet Captain for mechanical or other critical work.
6. The East side (“T-Head”) is designated for boats requiring a stay of more than 24 hours. A Dock Permit must be completed and approved by the Manager or Fleet Captain. Boats on the “T” without a permit will be charged as above.
7. Dinghies and tenders shall be confined to the North side of the dock shoreward of the white stripe. Any dinghy forward of the white marking will be moved. Only dinghies of members who have executed a mooring agreement may be tied to the STYC dock. Members who wish to use the dinghy dock must pay the minimum mooring fee. Dinghies of guests and visitors from other clubs are also allowed.
8. The ramp area of the dinghy dock is to be kept clear of all boats. Do not leave any boats or equipment on the sloped area.
9. Boats and dinghies parked at the dock without the Manager’s or Fleet Captain’s permission can be towed to a mooring and/or charged a fee. The St. Thomas Yacht Club shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, or expense resulting from moving a boat or dinghy that is in violation of the dock rules.
